Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the Hong Kong Autumn Electronics Fair 2019 has been held for 38 years. It is the largest electronics fair in the world. Hong Kong 2017 Autumn Electronics Show saw a record 3,669 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions. From the 13th to the 16th, the exhibition showcases all kinds of high-tech products. A total of 66,204 buyers from 146 countries and regions were attracted during the four-day exhibition.
In order to create business opportunities, the organizer organized more than 120 buyer groups and invited major importers, distributors and retailers from the mainland and regions to visit the exhibition, including Best Buy of the United States, Carrefour of France and Metro of Germany. At the same time, many scattered buyers from both sides of the Taiwan Strait as well as South Korea, Vietnam, the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Colombia also entered the market.
"Judging from this season's exhibition, the economic uncertainty in Europe and the US has led to relatively cautious buyers, but there is an expanding middle class of consumers in emerging markets such as South America and Eastern Europe who are looking for consumer electronics by design and function consumption," said Chow Kai Leung, vice president of HKTDC.
The 2019 Fall Electronics Show will feature multiple exhibition areas, including audio-visual products, mobile devices and accessories, video games, electronic health products, environmental protection and energy saving products and featured home appliances, and a special section for "protective cases for electronic products". Statistics show that more than 66,200 buyers entered the market, up 5 percent from last year and the highest number ever.
The much-sought-after "small batch purchase section" is making a comeback this fall. This flexible marketing model worked well and the area was located near the entrance to Expo Drive, attracting about 23,000 buyers and signing about 19,000 expressions of interest over the four days.
